The annual Inter-School Fest Aavartan:

Mosaic of Arts is held every year in the month of August/ September.This annual extravaganza holds special significance as we come together to pay tribute to the visionary founder of our school, Lala Jagannath Ji, whose ideals and principles continue to inspire us.

Lilawati Vidya Mandir hosts the annual Model United Nations (MUN) Conference, CASCADE.The students from different classes engage in diplomatic discussions, debate global issues, and develop leadership skills.

The conference features several committees, including the General Assembly, Security Council, WHO, UNHRC, and ECOSOC among others. Delegates passionately debate on topics such as climate change, human rights violations, global security, and economic development.

Each committee has a well-researched agenda, and delegates enact as executives from various states across the world and present their country’s stance while negotiating resolutions.

Our school proudly organizes a grand cultural event, celebrating the rich tapestry of music and dance. Students from classes III to XII present a perfect rendition of cultural rhythms.The event is a true testament of the talent and enthusiasm of our students and annually leaves the audience enchanted and inspired.

This year’s mesmerizing musical medley, Dhwani Sarang – Melodies of Music, wove together soulful harmonies that captivated the audience. Added to this ,the energetic Goan dance and the rhythmic Fisherman’s dance brought a wave of joy and excitement,and immersed everyone in the essence of cultural diversity.

The Annual Sports Carnival at our school is a lively and vibrant event that perfectly blends cultural and physical activities. Our tiny tots from Nursery and Pre-primary classes eagerly engage in a range of sports events and demonstrate their enthusiasm and energy.

Our young participants also showcase their talents through cultural performances, which highlight their creative expression. The carnival serves as a platform to encourage teamwork, physical fitness ,and artistic growth, which supplements our learners’ holistic development. The event is always a resounding success. It boosts our spirit and creates everlasting memories.

Trips and Excursion

Lilawati Vidya Mandir is committed to provide its students with enriching educational experiences through meticulously planned trips and excursions. These outings are both age-appropriate and subject-specific, designed to scaffold the learning process beyond traditional classroom settings.

These excursions are a part of the school’s commitment to blend education with real-world experiences,to kindle curiosity , inculcate teamwork, and raise environmental awareness amongst the young learners.During our Educational Trips our children explore places such as Shimla, Nainital and Flora & Fauna at Jim Corbett Park and so on.

Our children also feel enthralled to visit picnic spots such as Pratapgarh farms,Fun & Food Village and Kidzania and so on.

Children Against Child Abuse

Our school has successfully implemented the Children Against Child Abuse (CACA) project .We aim to raise awareness and prevent child abuse . We have incorporated CACA books into our curriculum and designated every Tuesday as CACA Day for class Nursery -IX.

The class teachers teach students from these books during the zero period. This initiative enables our students to develop awareness about child abuse , equips them with skills to seek help ,fosters a culture of empathy, and promotes a proactive approach to address important social issues.We empower our students with essential life skills,and create a safe and supportive learning environment by covering a wide range of topics such as- Prevention Of Bullying, Mental Health, Cyber Safety, Building Self-Esteem , Anger Management, and Conflict Resolution.

Talent is hidden in every child and just needs to be discovered. LVM has ,therefore, introduced a wide variety of club activities to support the holistic development of students.

These activities offer opportunities for students to develop essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Club Reports(2024-25):

Entrepreneurship Club

Expedition 2024 aimed to develop entrepreneurial skills among student council members through two phases:
\Phase 1 (July 20): Students managed five food stalls near the school garden, gaining experience in teamwork, leadership, and profit-making.
Phase 2 (October 19): Diwali goods like diyas, candles, and handicrafts were sold, focusing on cultural heritage, customer preferences, and marketing skills. The initiative, supported by school authorities and teachers, enhanced students’ entrepreneurship, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.

Dance

Dance plays a crucial role in the holistic development of our students. It fosters physical fitness of our students by improving coordination, balance, and flexibility, which also helps to develop their fine and gross motor skills. Beyond the physical benefits, dance encourages creativity and self-expression, allowing our students to convey emotions and ideas through movement.

It also promotes social skills as students collaborate in group performances, learn discipline, and respect for others. Moreover, dance helps reduce stress and enhances mental well-being, offering a fun and engaging outlet for emotional release. Overall, by incorporating dance into our curriculum we nurture both body and mind of our students, thus, contribute to a well-rounded educational experience.

Music

LVM’s vocal music training nurtures not only musical talent but also creativity, confidence, and a deep appreciation for the performing arts. Our Musical education aligns with NEP’s holistic learning approach.Regular practice sessions are conducted to enhance vocal strength and tonal quality.Our children listen to and sing bhajans, folk songs, and patriotic songs.They are also encouraged to participate in school assemblies, cultural events, and inter-school competitions.

Perseverance and perfection is the motto of ‘Swaranjali’- the instrumental group of L.V.M, comprising of learners from classes VI-XII. Young and extremely exuberant hands passionately play a wide range of musical instruments in the instrumental room of our school, wherein, the boisterous bass sounds bond magically with the soulful string, while vibrant percussion fuses effortlessly with the melody emanating from the wind instruments to produce wonderful rhapsodies, which elevate the heart of the listeners to a state of utter bliss!!

Art and Craft

Our Art Department headed by a National Award Winner is the cherry atop LVM’s cake.Our little cherubs too deftly use their nimble hands to create exquisite craft items.Chiseled by expert guidance of fantastic teachers,our children saunter through a variety of hues, which burst forth defying shackles of the medium of expression , as they explore profundity in ordinary life, which inevitably ,is the hallmark of great artists. No wonder L.V.M has produced artists who have earned great repute even at the International stage.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Step 1 – Recommendation by the  class teachers.
The Class teachers nominate students from their classes for the Student Council.

Step 2 – Filling of application Form
The students are asked to fill in an application form  in which they  answer few factual and few situational questions. These forms are assessed by the teacher members of the Student Council. 

Step 3 – Interview by student council teacher coordinators
The teachers then interview shortlisted candidates by asking situational questions. They are further shortlisted  on the basis of their  score.

Step 4 – Group Discussion
The students are then  divided into groups  and given a topic to discuss amongst themselves. The teachers  assess them on the basis of their knowledge, confidence and persuasive  power. 

Step 5 – Interview by Principal
The Interview by the Principal finally decides the office bearers of the Student Council.

ACTIVITIES & INITIATIVES

  • Organize SDG Activities such as cleanliness drives,health awareness campaigns, tree plantation initiatives etc. .
  • Collaborate with teachers for smooth implementation of ideas.

Morning Assembly

Morning Assembly forms an important facet of the weft and warp of the school’s educational fabric. It holds a great significance, as the learners embark on a journey of self- discovery, personal growth, and community building, while they learn values such as patriotism, unity and discipline.

The special morning assemblies mark days such as Hindi Diwas (September 14), Earth Day (April 22), Say No to Single Use Plastic (July 07), World Suicide Prevention Day (September 13) and so on.These initiatives help us to inform, educate and inspire the young minds.

A Visit by Japanese Dignitaries

We felt honoured to host the esteemed delegation of Japanese educationists at our school on 31st January ,25.

It was a day of cultural exchange, insightful discussions on STEAM education, and collaborative learning. We together explored Science, Mathematics, and inclusive education.

It fostered global educational partnerships aligning with NEP and NCF.

Sports

Sports and physical activities ensure holistic development and build life skills among students. Our school’s sports program aligns with the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) guidelines and emphasizes the development of physical literacy, teamwork, and leadership through structured and inclusive activities.Our school has an exceptional sports infrastructure, including a sprawling playground, a professional basketball court, a badminton court, a modern skating rink, a shooting range and a pickle ball court.

Our school’s Inclusive Education Club acknowledges the right to education, and considers that all children should learn. Thus we celebrate diversity,and address all aspects of child development, and acknowledge individual differences and special needs.

Our school’s Inclusive Education Club (PEHCHAN: Ek Kadam Roshni Ki Aur) has introduced a range of exciting activities designed to celebrate diversity, encourage teamwork, and promote social awareness in accordance with children with Special needs. Every year the club conducts a wide array of activities filled with excitement and fun as mentioned hereunder:-

1) Flameless Cooking Activity: A safe and fun cooking experience where students of all abilities can explore their culinary creativity without using fire is regularly organised.
2)Inclusive Sports Day: Adaptive sports and games are organised to ensure participation from everyone, including differently-abled students.
3)Visits to NGOs: We organise  Interactive visits to local NGOs which  allow students to engage in community service and help them understand social responsibilities.
4)Disability Awareness Days: Special events like World Disability Day, World Autism Awareness Day and many more are  observed with great enthusiasm. Educators  educate and sensitize students about the challenges and achievements of individuals with disabilities through Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competitions , Movies and Quizzes. The students are made aware about the different disabilities and  unique needs of  CWSN.
5)Cultural Festivals: A vibrant  cultural festival is held annually that  showcases diverse talents. It ensures equal participation regardless of abilities featuring dance  and  music performances.
6)Exhibitions: Inclusive Club  successfully organizes  Diwali exhibitions to celebrate the festival of lights in a way that embraces diversity and inclusivity   and ensured equal participation for everyone, including differently-abled individuals.  Inclusive club sets up various stalls featuring handmade crafts, diyas, candles, and festive decorative items  made by  CWSN with the help of club members . 
7)PEHCHAN: Our magazine is   named  PEHCHAN after the very name of the club itself. The magazine was formally released by the Japanese Delegation that visited our school on January 31, 2025.
