Co-curricular activities supplement and complement the curriculum based education system. They widen the horizon of a child, bringing in a holistic development. It is pertinent to incorporate the three major domains of education viz. reasoning, psychomotor and emotional learning in the mainstream education.  They cater to the cultural, social and aesthetic development of children.

We, at Lilawati Vidya Mandir, believe that:

“Education is the passport to future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”

We nurture the young minds by involving them in myriad of activities.

Dance:

‘Dance enables you to find yourself’

Lilawatiites bring magic on stage whenever they perform. Dance not only gives wings to their feet but also teaches them how to balance and coordinate. They learn teamwork, time management and stress management. With Mrs Beena at the helm, students display their potential to the fullest and bring accolades for their Alma mater.

Music:

‘Music is my higher power’

Students of Lilawati Vidya Mandir are powered with this genre of activity in two ways ; Vocal and Instrumental.  Music Department boasts of total dedication and devotion where-in students show unparalleled attachment. Music activities never stop. Right from morning assemblies to big occasions,  the choir and the orchestra of the School never fail to mesmerize one and all. Led by Mrs Mita Choudhary, the Department reigns supreme in most of the Inter School/ Zonal/ District and State level competitions.

Art& Craft:

This Department provides an excellent platform that hones the latent talent of the young artists. Their mentors Mr.Amit, Mrs Charu & Mrs Vandna lead the  students from the front by setting examples. They firmly believe;

‘Every artist was first an amateur’

and; allow the budding artists to explore their soul and paint their perspective for the world to see. LVM takes pride in showing off the alumni who are already making their mark in this field.

Theatre:

The Thespians at LVM are given free rein to spread their wings and fly in the sky of success. It is a place where students are encouraged to be creative, innovative and think out of the box. The team, under the able guidance of Mrs Sandhya Bansal and Mrs Kavita Sharma produce meaningful and thought provoking One-Act plays and ‘Nukkad Nataks’.  They have consistently been winning major Inter School/Inter Zonal competitions and have brought many laurels to the school.

Bal Sabha:

“Learning by doing is the only way I know how to learn.”

Bal Sabha is a platform where students from class 1 to 12 are given opportunities to showcase their flair in a potpourri of activities like Debates, Declamation, Symposium, Quiz, Dress and Jewellery Designing, Cooking without Fire, to name a few.

We have Intra School/ Intra Class competitions which enable us to involve maximum number of students to bring their skills to the fore.

The team comprising of Mrs Veena Taneja, Mrs Manju Sharma, Mrs Yashika Gupta,Mrs Ruchi Gupta & Mrs Kavita Goel work earnestly to present and build the aptitude of the students.

Sports:

“Don’t limit your challenges, challenge your limits.”

LVM is proud to have a well equipped Sports Department. Our full time staff members Mrs Kamaljeet and Mrs Renu Kataria have won both at National and International events. Not only this, they have produced National and International winners in athletic and Judo events. Mr Kamal Gambhir and Mr Ashok Sharma leave no stone unturned to coach the enthusiastic students in football, badminton, volleyball and so on. Apart from these, we have part-time qualified coaches to cater to the ever-growing needs of our budding sports stars.

Eco – Club:

The Club is dedicated to sensitise the young minds to the environmental issues like protection, conservation, preservation and restoration of natural resources. It works zealously for the improvement of the environment through various activities such as planting saplings. We believe that:

“Planting a sapling is not enough,

Nurture it to become a tree.”

In a special plantation drive, the saplings were named after war heroes, as a tribute to the armed forces, who protect us against enemies, with the thought that trees too protect us against the  menace that threaten our environment. Poster making, slogan writing, organic painting, newspaper craft, anti firecracker campaign are some of the other activities in our endeavour for preserving our environment. The Club is growing exponentially under the able guidance of Mr Rajender Parashar, Mrs Kavita Goel,  Miss Ritika Dhankar and Mrs Bharti Bhatia. The learners feel passionate about environmental issues and educate their friends and relatives about the  environment friendly objects and the techniques of waste management..

The school has bagged the coveted and prestigious Green School Certificate from The Centre of Science and Environment. After conducting a series of activities, prescribed by the Centre the school invited  the officials for an intensive audit and scored the numero uno position.
